I, beach

Image
The thing about beaches is that without even realising it, most of my life's memorable moments were spent there and it kinda explains perhaps why I have always been drawn to the sea and sand. I mean sure, everyone do love a holiday and who in their right mind would complain going to the beach (well perhaps most ladies and then some Asian guys would because of the sun and I really couldn't comprehend why they would be fully clothed while walking by the beach)? No, it's not because it is one place that I can legally so called feast my eyes on topless or near naked men (I mean like hello, have you seen the specimen we have around here) but rather there is something beautiful about the life on the beach. Perhaps it's association with holidays and happier times - I remembered spending crazy time when I was a child on the beach during school holidays only to come back home sunburnt and peeling afterwards. Then there is this year in high school that I've spent a couple of

So I was talking about serendipity and how almost laughable that concept it. I suppose when you don't know any better, eveything is possible. And if life is like a movie, I would probably had one of the most interesting night of my life. It was a weekday so I've decided to drop by somewhere just to have dinner by myself. I don't usually eat dinner so to speak but the whole day I was munching on nothing but rabbit food. Right from the start it was nice because there wasn't too much of traffic on the road and easily I found a parking in that notoriously hard to find parking mall. From the moment I walked towards the escalator, I've noticed this guy - tallish, short haired, bespectacled with facial hair, young daddy-ish - typically how I like my men. Dressed in your usual office gear, grey shirt with black pants and since I followed behind - yes not too bad of a butt. He was busy looking around the restaurant and I was busy looking at his behind while I walking behind

Hipster (also referred to as scenesters[1]) is a term frequently used to refer to a subculture of young, recently settled urban middle class adults and older teenagers. Usage of the term reappeared in the 1990s and persists to the present. The subculture is associated with independent music, a varied non-mainstream fashion sensibility, and alternative lifestyles. Interests in media would include independent film, magazines such as Vice and Clash, and websites like Pitchfork Media. In a Huffington Post article entitled "Who's a Hipster?," Julia Plevin argues that the "definition of 'hipster' remains opaque to anyone outside this self-proclaiming, highly-selective circle." She claims that the "whole point of hipsters is that they avoid labels and being labeled. However, they all dress the same and act the same and conform in their non-conformity" to an "iconic carefully created sloppy vintage look." Dan Fletcher in Time seems to support

Shawn Yue 余文樂

I don't know why I have never mentioned Shawn before, he's definitely one of the hottest actor if not the hottest in Hong Kong. Personally I think he's hotter than Daniel Wu and quite a decent actor as well. Never purposely seek out for his movies, but rather catch his movies now and then on TV re-runs and always pleasantly suprised and charmed by his good looks. Won't go down the road on how he used to look, I mean all of us have been there - looking less than fashionable. He's in his 30s and men in their 30s are interesting having finally found what work and what doesn't work for them. Seriously my fav apart from Simon Yam (that guy is certainly talented and very fashionable). All in way his style is pretty laid back/Hong Kong-ish laddish, really like how he lives on wayfarer style sunnies (I think they are the best thing since sliced bread, I have two) and those oh so cute round glasses.

Love, love, love him even back in those Clueless days. Somehow he has the same quality as Bradley Cooper. Btw, I had a thing for Brad since his Alias and Lonely Planet days. Maybe it's a pattern.

Youth is wasted on the young Sometimes when I look back in my life, I wished that I could go back and tell myself to be happier. Life's great now so there's no point wasting them thinking all these thoughts, worrying about things and ultimately think that I was too good and too mature for my age. What a joke! I was far from mature and more of a moody cow. No matter how well grounded you are, you are never going to be mature sans the experience to compensate for it. You can think that you have the principle but there's no chance of putting them into test. Most principle are rubbish and changes as life change. It's not to say that you don't have backbone. It's more adapting. Life stops when we are unable to adapt to our surrounding. But above all, don't be so serious. Life is one fun ride. No point being so serious all the time. Laught at it. I don't have everything but it seems and feel like I do. I used to think that I need a boyfriend and a house and th

So I've been trying to do the right thing and save as much as I can in order to do the things I thought almost impossible - see the world and even as I was making plans I knew the biggest hurdle would not be family objections or future/problems or even money. I knew the biggest enemy would be sharing the same sheets as me and yes, the enemy is me. It's no secret that I love to spend money. Though I am and have been cutting down on drinks and whatever that is not necessary, I am still finding it tough to cut down on fashion. Especially on nice and pretty looking bags. I have stopped stocking up on cute and quirky finds that I think would be perfect for my future home. After all, the future home remains in the future and very likely on the cloud. And I've figured that I should go by the principle of home is where the heart is and it can be anywhere. My greatest weakeness come in the form of arm candy and I've told myself that I can do it. We do love to rape Mother Earth

Image
People who knows me know that I am quite easily outraged. The fact that I couldn't stand bandwagoning and herd mentality is not really a secret. But as promised, these days I try to be nicer and it doesn't pay to be bitchy about it. Nope, half the times arent about bitching but more like telling the truth, the ugly truth but nobody can handle the truth. And the truth would be, you will be labelled as the bitchy bitter tranny queen, so begs the question as to what's the point? However, this is my blog and sometimes certain things are just asking for it. Take for example, I've been rolling my eyes at the Earth Hour promo that has been making its round with people ACTUALLY CARRYING AND PLAYING WITH CANDLES in replacement of electricity powered lights. I mean like seriously, what is the point? For one hour in a year, we are trying to cut down massive usage of energy and we just replace it with another source of energy (might I add not very clean as well) So why bother havin
