The real reward

So I just attended my 3rd annual local industry award show yesterday. I was there for the free beers and a lil reunion with old friends in the circle and meeting new friends there. Somehow or another this particular award show has gotten me a little disenchanted over the years as you can really tell who is going to win - I mean for crying out loud, champange/drinks was laid out on the soon to be winners' tables even before the whole ceremony takes place (a little modesty won't hurt). And it's no suprise year after all, it's those with connections or should I say in the judging panel will surely go home with something. Perhaps their work is really good - some of them are but there are some which is equally as good if not better that doesn't win. Yes, every entry that you see is a result of months of hardwork and agony. Guess that's the thing with competition. Alot of luck is needed and there's always a loser. Maybe the judges know better, maybe that's why

Deja Vuuuuuuu

Life is very much a game of chance and luck all thrown in together. It has alot to do with the right timing and plenty of good karmas. And I guess it's the time of the cycle when everyone is thrown into bad karma and all I ever read about is this cringe worthy phrase called credit crunch. But that's a very wrong move and it's up to us to convince client to do otherwise. And here I am thinking about my Christmas present list and what color scheme to use for decos. Management doesnt want to mantain the same billings that we have for this year, as it is only natural a

The end of many things

Someone told me that there's roughly 35 working days before Christmas and to me it was just mad. That's just the way November works. You work hard from August towards September and rushing out campaigns that spills over to October and by end of the 10th month, you are busy trying to squeeze things out to be launched during the first week of November. Guess in a way that's how time flew for most of us in the industry. And towards the end of the year, it would be all so quiet and just waiting for the burst into the new year and Lunar New Year. That's the business life cycle I guess. But till then, we will all pretend that everything starts to get dark earlier and things are more slow. Imagine the Christmas decorations being hung out with people thinking about what to buy and parties to get drunk over. Lots of old DVD that will be taken out to be watched. Then, it is also the annual depression time for many who thinks that they are lonely and unlucky or miss one boat or a
