The end of many things
Someone told me that there's roughly 35 working days before Christmas and to me it was just mad. That's just the way November works. You work hard from August towards September and rushing out campaigns that spills over to October and by end of the 10th month, you are busy trying to squeeze things out to be launched during the first week of November. Guess in a way that's how time flew for most of us in the industry. And towards the end of the year, it would be all so quiet and just waiting for the burst into the new year and Lunar New Year. That's the business life cycle I guess.
But till then, we will all pretend that everything starts to get dark earlier and things are more slow. Imagine the Christmas decorations being hung out with people thinking about what to buy and parties to get drunk over. Lots of old DVD that will be taken out to be watched. Then, it is also the annual depression time for many who thinks that they are lonely and unlucky or miss one boat or another. Maybe it's just how life is, never happy when it's over and can't wait for things to begin.
I recently had the luxury of going to places which I don't have to pay for say except for forking out money to do some sinful shopping but guess no one is complaining about that part. Looking back, we (as in me and the people who went for those trips) spend the whole year or months talking and preparing for it and before you know it, it's over. During any travelling, the journey esp on the place is my least prefered things to do and I can never wait to be ridden of it. Guess that's what happen when you can't sleep in plane and quite a torture considering some are very long hours and you have activities lined up for you once you land. But that's just a small price to pay to experience things, places and people that you wouldn't get to do so on daily basis.
But now it's all over. Things are safetly bounded on ground. Credit card bills are coming back to haunt you (some things never change) and you just want to sit down, drink everything in and enjoy the moment before it passes by. And it will pass by.
