Byzantine boys and girls

Image
Taking a break from what is something that I need to think about. Yes, sorry to be vague. But moving on, love love the religious reference and Byzantian inspiration for the duo Dolce & Gabbana's lastest show. I have highlighted the men's show previously which is really beautiful and now it's the ladies turn. The pricing would be for sure more reasonable than Givenchy and probably less in your face too, which is what I like. Can't wait to get my hands on the men's stuff come Autumn.

We're never ever ever ever ever getting back together

Image
So finally the other day I gave up. Gave up on ever gaining back my old waist size and holding on to expensive and fitting (very tight) clothes esp my nice pants and a couple of shirts. Over the years I have been slowly giving them up, mostly to my father who is a tad smaller than me and he will take up whatever that is not too gay or too youthful while the rest goes to this colleague of mine whom despite being older than me is disgustingly thinner. The problem here is not so much I gained that much weight even though I did but more of the years of abuse that I have done to my body by drinking. By principal I am not too crazy about food and I can even do without it but at the end of the day, no regrets. Even my face is fatter these days. Oh well, it's age. Ain't gonna fight it, just make the best out of it. So keep calm and buy size M.

Nerd at work

Image
I didn't really want to change formatting style but that damn Photobucket keep on upgrading their services and the most stupid part is that they disabled most of the previous filters and function and hence this new change. I bet no one notices it but I hate it...argggh!!! Anyway, a new set of photoshoot from Mr Porter featuring Elijah Wood - usually 'midget' is not really my thing but the first picture with the glasses and ciggies just took my breathe away - typical me and nerds eh?

New Year again

Image
Happy Chinese New Year! for the longest time I have been travelling for every Chinese New Year but because of some bitch this year I have to miss out a trip to Shanghai and some parts of China. But trying to be calm is the order of the day, in fact it is the order of the year. Just letting it go and ignoring them bitches. After all, karma is bitchier than me! Enough of the bad things, so here's to a better year ahead!

#102 Things to give up for travelling

RM1,000   Now RM495  Save 51% To a huge exten, this is a great deal considering the pricing. You would probably have to pay more here in Malaysia to get yourself a piece of that and it's pretty iconic for those who are uninitiated. But even with free shipping, I nearly clicked on checkout...took me alot to say no. And walk away.

Being Boring

Image
One of the biggest sports event which is also one of the biggest advertising 'event' - SuperBowl just ended a couple of days ago. The usual talk about SuperBowl for us would be the cost for half time ads - a whopping USD4million for 30second. That and also the tradition of producing viral friendly and great ads has always been thing for agencies in the states. Some of these spots run for 2minutes. Go do the calculations. The world outside of US wouldn't be bothered with the games, but much more on the ads and there are a couple of good ones here and there but like it or not, it felt like this year the game has taken a back seat - it's almost like Beyonce's concert supported by a game and not the other way around. What is more suprising is that why people actually love that girl so much? I mean she has talent and she can sing - despite the lip snyc scandal but she's insanely boring. Started the whole show with Crazy in Love which is great but the choreography i...

Real life in box

Image
If there's one thing that I love in my life, that would be documentaries. I remembered back in the days when I really relish to chance to catch any episodes of National Geographic Explorer and the first thing that I made mandatory when I subscribed to cable TV was to get the documentary pack. In fact, I used to subscribe to NatGeo but those were the days...it's all about digital these days. It was during those years that I yearn to visit Egypt - I am a big Egyptology and history freak. I suppose it doesn't cost that much and so perhaps one day I will be able to fulfil a childhood dream. It isn't that safe to visit these days so who knows. It's one of those episodes that I first found out about Varanasi and it felt great to visit that place, finally. Beyond the places to go and see which I do still like, there are other subjects that I like - anything apart from automobile, machinary, guns etc...typical boy stuff, I find it disintresting though airplanes and the...

New experiences

Image
Getting older is alright but it's much better when you are doing it with friends. In line with the new outlook for this year, it's great to seek new experiences, near or far. Life is mundane if you keep doing the same thing and seeing the same places all the time, no?

Go to the beach

An old favourite of mine, Télépopmusik's Breathe was a big hit back in the day. But I really love this cover. Heard it first time in H&M. This band took it to a new level and the video is reminds me of the beach. Yes please!

In the garden

Image
Garden leave describes the practice whereby an employee who is leaving a job (having resigned or otherwise had his or her employment terminated) is instructed to stay away from work during the notice period, while still remaining on the payroll. This practice is often used to prevent employees from taking with them up-to-date (and perhaps sensitive) information when they leave their current employer, especially when they are leaving to join a competitor.  Not me, really. Just the leave part, as in taking some leave days off. Garden is a nice thing, resting and comforting. Been abit sick and got alot to do, alot in my mind. But it's all good. No drama. Oh, Raf Simons, I don't mind being in your garden of Dior haute couture

Religion

Image
Well, worshipping material unnecessary can be a religion too as shown by the crazy fashionistas who shelve out thousands of ringgit for a T shirt. Yes, you read right, Givenchy t shirts sells for that much. But who can resist the charm of these Italians and their usage of God, religion and art? I really love these Fall Winter 2013 pieces by Dolce & Gabanna, right after the haute couture nuns previewed from Givenchy.

The new stud in my life

All ready for the Lunar New Year? A small video on how the studs are done for my clutch :)

Asphyxia Me

The thing about being with your friends is that you sometimes blur the line of what you should or should not say as you usually intend the best for them and I do not believe in the type of friendship of calculating down to the 45cents and leaving them to their own devices whenever it suits me. Though some so called 'friends' that I have seen actually do that. People are strange, yes I know. So it has came to my attention that a friend indeed is going through something and as a so called half decent person, you would ask how the condition is and little would you expect to be called suffocating. The funny thing is that friend chooses to tell anyone and everyone who cared including her family about the condition - just like the way she do all the time and would it be too much to expect people asking about it then for updates? I have came to the conclusion that she wants the attention as and when it suits her. Another friend agreed. The new me would probably give her a piece or...

No one wants to fuck a curly haired...

Image
...skinny guy with glasses and facial hair. I can't say it's a fact but I am actually living that life. At the risk of going down the usual gay self depreciation thread - this is merely more of an observation than anything else. There was this day, on New Year's eve if I wasn't mistaken that I was driving out from the office rather early and lo and behold this most beautiful crossed the road and I sweared that my eyes were on him more than on the road. Now if you are familiar with my blog, you would know that this type of gorgeous-ness - the usual short spiked up hair with glasses, lanky with the right fitting pants and shirts and tie wouldn't usually turn my head around but hey, some sort of meat crossing the road, it's anytime better than chicken. Can you imagine, if I can turn around and look and probably the whole gay population would more likely than not be attracted to him. And I thought to myself, what did he got that I don't have? Ok, so the face...

Days of our lives

Image
It's been awhile since I did any bimbo talk but I know I did it before and I know that I have it in me but yes, it's been awhile. It is also a while since I last meet up with Upstairs Bitch. Now Upstairs Bitch for those who don't remember used to work upstairs - in the same building as I did. We both used to be minions in two different international agency and will meet for lunch and also cigarette. There's a fire escape where everyone used to smoke there till kingdom comes. And we used to go out often to bitch about our lives and then shopping. After that, I will usually head home and she will go and meet the most unsuitable men. Then again, I was also seeing some unsuitable men here and there. So it's been 6 years, we are no longer bitching (not much at least) and against all odds, she got married and now running her husband's business. So, happily ever after? Not really but I think she's much better now. The last time I saw her was during her wedding an...

2012 in recap

Image
I think 2012 for me has been quite interesting and good to a large extend, there's a few low points here and there but all said and done, vital for me to grow as a person and I am still learning, still trying and still not giving up. 1. India - fulfilled some sort of always wanted to do/visit kinda thing but never really thought much about it and it was in a word awesome. Need to think about more bucket list (of course not counting some places that I have visited for the first time like Oz, Samui, NZ etc etc 2. Savings - first year that I see savings in my bank account, despite the retail recap, I did managed to save up quite alot for the future. 3. Humility and kindness - lots of occassion has thought me about humility and I am still along way from being good. Sure, there were slaps on the face but sometimes it's necessary to wake me up. As for kindness, you learn and appreciate kindness from others and in return, return that back. That and being grateful for everything ...

Help

Image
I've been supporting Kiva - a non profit organisation in micro financing, in laymen term - they use my money which I contributed like around USD15 (and many other USD15 from people who donated/or loaned) to help people from all over the world who are usually rejected from getting loans because they are high risk. People who are really poor who needs little money to turn their life around - a few hundred to set up a small store, buy a goat or cow etc etc and they will need to pay the loan back. Once paid back, the money will go back to me and I can choose to pass it on to another person as a loan. So essentially, we are not feeding them fish but giving them the means to buy a rod so that they will learn and continue to fish for themselves. This can break the cycle of poverty and also change lives. Only for as low as USD15. I mean what is USD15 for most of us? What a wonderful idea!!! LIKE!!!! Try it for yourself. It's only USD15.

My true love gave to me

Image
You know how sometimes you read or hear about how people's other half is always gifting them something and even though you are a well earning independent bitch, you somehow couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy. Well then, bitches, get ready to be jealous. What more can I ask for? Speechless actually. Total surprise. Not from any men or such . From my close friends. Now that's far more better than anything else. Take that you showoffs and your boyfriends and shit. Betchu don't have friends like mine!

Retail Recap 2012

Image
I actually did one for 2011 and part of me didn't really want to share all the so called purchases because like I mentioned in the past, it is abit vulgar to show everything but on the other hand these are beautiful purchases that I was quite happy with and since no one can really keep up with me, this is the one time that I can look back at the year's loot. But I think more importantly, it has taught me not to be so impulsive when it comes to buying (for certain cases) and shown me some profit from resale. But whatever it is, I was surprised that some of these purchases...I don't remember until I do this recap! Still in hand Was told that it retails for 4K, got it for 2.4K Found online for 4Kish, got a secondhand from Singapore for 1.5K Retails around 600bucks online, around 800 locally and 300 from ebay This one is damn lousy in the sense it was impulsive, more expensive than online and few months later, saw other colors that I like. But Celine is Celine......
